Kristin Hersh is a major figure of the late-20th-century alt-rock explosion and, three decades on, remains one of alternative music's most singular voices. As the founder of Throwing Muses and a prolific solo artist, she helped define an entire strand of American indie rock — restless, literary, unflinching.
Her forthcoming album, Sugar on Blackstone, arrives 18 September via Fire Records. It's a record about life and death, memory, survival, and human connection — examining the lasting bonds between musicians, family, and friends.
This November and December, Hersh brings that record to four New Zealand stages only: Dunedin, Christchurch, Auckland, and Wellington. On The Door is proud to be presenting the Dunedin show at Ravensbourne Hall.
